La Ultra - The High

La Ultra is a 555 Km long foot-race, staged within the cold desert of Ladakh and traversing through the great Himalayan range . La Ultra – The High is among the toughest foot races in India. Ultra-distances range from 55 km to 555 kms, spanning the huge cold desert, from Nubra Valley to Changthang Plateau, all within 126 hours. Temperatures can go from Minus 12 degree C cold to 40 degree C hot, in a matter of 6-7 hours. Five mountain passes (all above 17,000 ft.) with oxygen density less than 50, makes this race more challenging.
